Sticker Scout Group – Marquee hire – terms & conditions

The marquee is the property of Sticker Scout Group (SSG) who will erect the marquee, make it available to the User, and dismantle the marquee after use.
The User will safeguard the marquee from damage during the period of hire. The cost of repairing damage arising from actions or neglect of the User will be reimbursed to SSG.
The User will assess risks and put controls in place to prevent fire. The User will ensure that at least two exits are available for quick evacuation in case of fire or other hazard.
The User will ensure the safety of all activities inside the marquee, and outside to minimise the risk of injury through persons coming into contact with ropes, tent pegs or stakes. The User is responsible for obtaining insurance cover for events and activities while using the marquee.
SSG will not be liable for any injury or damage caused by the use of the marquee, unless caused by our negligence.
The User will not undo or change structural elements (poles, ropes, stakes) after the marquee has been put up. SSG will not accept liability for the consequences of a structural failure of the marquee if that arises through the actions or negligence of the User.
Weather. SSG reserves the right to change the day or time of erecting the marquee, or to cancel it, or to dismantle the marquee at any time, or to instruct the User not to use the marquee, or to instruct any persons in the marquee to leave, if SSG believes that weather conditions make use of the marquee unsafe.
If the User believes that weather conditions make use of the marquee unsafe, the User will evacuate the marquee and contact SSG immediately.
The User confirms that for the purpose of driving metal stakes into the ground there are no underground pipes or cables where the marquee is to be put up.

Payment, Deposit and Cancellation

We charge a deposit of £100 on booking and balance on arrival. The overall cost will depend on your requirements. We get our team together for transport, putting up and dismantling, and so whether you have it for two days or four doesn't make much difference.

We reserve the right to keep both the deposit and balance, but if everyone has done what they can to make the event work but then "something happens", then we'll probably return any monies. Until we actually load up to go it's not cost us anything.

Once the marquee has been put up, if bad weather makes it unusable, that won't change the payment terms because we still have to dismantle and transport it back, and worst of all, dry out the canvas which can take days.

Being a scout group we are all unpaid volunteers. Hiring our marquee helps us raise funds to keep the scout group working. It’s quite likely that you are volunteers too, and so we hope to work with you to make your event a success.
